Miley Cyrus posts about goodbyes following Liam Hemsworth and Kaitlynn Carter split

It has been a tumultuous 2019 for Miley Cyrus, following the breakdown of her marriage to Liam Hemsworth and split from girlfriend Kaitlynn Carter.

The 26-year-old posted a cryptic message on her Instagram account to her 99.7 million followers, no doubt eluding to her two recent break-ups.

"Goodbyes are never easy...," she wrote, adding a love heart emoji and the words "but g2g".

'G2g' is internet shorthand for 'got to go', with Cyrus sharing the post from her vacation in Utah.

The 'Wrecking Ball' singer has been staying there with her family, including mum Tish, for the past week as she relaxes and recharges following a series of concerts in Las Vegas.

Cyrus and Hemsworth, 29, announced their split in August after just eight months of marriage in news that was a surprise to many.

The pair had been together on and off for almost nine years, after meeting on the set of romantic drama The Last Song in 2009.

Following the separation announcement, Cyrus was pictured kissing Kaitlynn Carter while on vacation in Italy with her sister, Brandi.

Carter had also just recently announced her split from Brody Jenner after one year of marriage.

The couple were pictured together frequently after their return to the US, but are said to have parted ways as things were moving too fast.
