Before their current girls' trip in Lake Como, Italy, Miley Cyrus and Kaitlynn Carter likely had another memorable outing weeks before Cyrus and husband Liam Hemsworth called it quits.

After 26-year-old Cyrus performed at Glastonbury last month, the 'We Can't Stop' singer took a trip to Stonehenge on July 1. On her Instagram Story, she shared a photo of herself at the natural wonder, and described the trip as a "spiritual experience."

Also on July 1, Carter, 30, the ex of Brody Jenner, posted photos of herself at the site, too. Although it's unclear if the women were at Stonehenge at the same exact time, The Hills: New Beginnings star is a friend of the Cyrus family, as she shared a photo of herself backstage at Glastonbury with Miley's older sister Brandi, 32, that same day.

Later in July, Carter even filled in as a special guest host on Brandi's podcast, Your Favorite Thing. On August 2, Carter and Jenner's reps confirmed their split after five years of dating and both appearing on The Hills: New Beginnings.

A source told Entertainment Tonight that Carter and Miley hung out together with their then-partners in Malibu, California, and that Jenner and Hemsworth were pals.

"Brody and Liam are both into surfing and are friends," the source said.

"Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what's best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy," the message concluded.

The couple wed December 23, 2018 in a super-private ceremony at their home in Franklin, Tennessee. They dated on-and-off since 2010, when they met while filming the teen drama The Last Song.

According to a US Weekly source, Miley chose to end the relationship, even after wanting to try therapy to work through their differences.

"Miley was the one who ended things with Liam," the source said."They haven't been together for months."

On August 13, Hemsworth addressed the split directly in an Instagram post.

"Hi all. Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated, and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward," Hemsworth wrote, captioning a photo of a beach sunset.
