Michael Clarke grilled over wild Lara Bingle rumour in most raw interview to date
Former Aussie cricket star Michael Clarke has addressed a wild rumour that he flushed Lara Bingle’s engagement ring down the toilet following their split in 2010.
Clarke and Bingle, now Lara Worthington, were engaged in 2008 before the pair split up in 2010. Following their split, rumours were rife that Clarke flushed her massive pear-shaped diamond ring, worth a rumoured $200,000, down the toilet.

The cricketer spoke out about the claim during a wide-ranging discussion on Samantha Armytage’s new Youtube interview series Act Two, answering her question before she even finished it.
“Can we just quickly... I’m asking for a friend because I have an old engagement ring that I’m not sure what to do with it,” Armytage said before Clarke cut her off. “No, I never flushed any ring down any toilet,” he said.
“Talk about completely made up, blatant lies, and people still believed it!”
Armytage then added that there was a “plumbing can parked” outside his house in Bondi, which sent Clarke into a frenzy.
“Oh my god. In the middle of Bondi, there’s a van that’s got a plumber sign on it. That must mean Michael Clark flushed a ring down a toilet. What a story!” He joked.
The interview is the rawest we’ve seen from Clarke, who hardly ever speaks about his romantic life.
Elsewhere in the interview, he spoke about his relationship with his daughter and the co-parenting dynamic he has with his ex-wife, Kyly Clarke.
“I have 50 per cent custody of my daughter, so those seven days I have her is the best seven days of my life. You know, I don’t want to miss a day,” he said.
“She’s on school holidays now, for example. And you’re finding stuff to do [together]. But being a parent, it’s not all rainbows and butterflies, there’s tough days as well.

“I love that challenge. I love that I’ve got a little girl because that’s very different to when I think about me, as a boy growing up.”
The cricketer welcomed his daughter, Kelsey Lee Clarke, in 2015. He split from Kelsey’s mum, Kyly, in 2020 after seven years together.
Clarke also opened up about finding love again with Arabella Sherborne after a public divorce.
“I think trusting completely at the start is tough definitely. And I’d imagine it goes both ways. I think it takes time,” he said.

“For me, I think I’ve been pretty lucky because Arabella has been my friend from the start – we had an awesome friendship from the start. So I think building that together allowed the openness to be consistent.
“There’s no doubt she’d heard stuff about me that I’m sure she wanted to ask about and I was super open with that stuff.”
Clarke and Sherborne have been together since May 2024.
