'Married At First Sight' star Zoe Hendrix opens up about extended breastfeeding: 'Almost two years in'

Married At First Sight star Zoe Hendrix is letting her 2-year-old decide when she will stop breastfeeding.

The 29-year-old -- who shares daughter Harper-Rose with her ex-partner Alex Garner -- took to Instagram on Wednesday to talk about extended breastfeeding.

"I never imagined our boobing journey would last this long," Zoe shared, captioning a breastfeeding photo of herself and Harper-Rose. "But here we are. Almost 2 years in. Most days I'm over it and ready for her to wean (feeding an active toddler is so different to feeding a baby in your arms!) But I've decided to let Miss Harper make that call when she is good and ready."

Zoe explained that since separating from Alex, their daughter has experienced many changes to her day-to-day life. Zoe has previously revealed that she has primary custody of the little girl.

"I know that breastfeeding offers her security and emotional nutrition," continued Zoe. "Not just food. So no matter where you are in your journey, just do what's best for you and your child."

Zoe and Alex announced their separation on April 17, sharing a statement on her Instagram.

"It is with sadness that Alex and I would like to state that we will be separating for now," she wrote. "We are determined to ensure our beautiful daughter Harper-Rose continues to receive the unconditional love and nurturing she deserves from the both of us."

Zoe and Alex met on Season 1 of Married At First Sight in 2015, and continued their relationship outside of the eight-week experiment. They welcomed Harper-Rose in November 2016.
