'Married At First Sight' star Davina Rankin speaks out about affair

She’s arguably one of Australia’s most talked about woman at the moment, and now Australia has heard Married At First Sight participant Davina Rankin speak about her experience on the show.

In an interview with A Current Affair, Rankin, 26, described the backlash from the public as "scary". 

"I’ve really put myself out there for the whole world," she said. "Well, the whole of Australia, to really judge me and criticise me."

The Instagram star has caused controversy over her affair with fellow contestant Dean Wells. 

On Wednesday night’s explosive episode of MAFS, the pair acted on their attraction, getting comfortable on the couch together away from their respective on-screen spouses, Tracey Jewel and Ryan Gallagher. 

Speaking of her new-found notoriety after signing up to the show, Rankin revealed she’s not used to so much attention.

"I’ve [always] lived happily in my bubble, and you know no-one really gives me any grief," she said.

When asked by ACA whether she can handle the backlash, the Queensland woman said, "If anyone can deal with it, it’s going to be me. I can handle it."

A Current Affair’s interview was recorded the day after filming on MAFS wrapped.  

There’s set to be more twists in the scandal this Sunday, during the commitment ceremony. 

Last night’s episode of MAFS was the number one program on television, with ratings for the hit show peaking at 1.397 million people in the capital cities. 

My Kitchen Rules, on the Seven Network, slumped to its lowest ratings in its history.
