Actress Margaret Qualley shuts down ‘untrue’ rumours behind Jack Antonoff split

Actress Margaret Qualley has shut down the rumours swirling around her recent split from songwriter husband Jack Antonoff.

Just days after news broke that the couple had separated, the actress’s representative issued a statement rejecting claims that the end of their marriage was linked to anyone else.

“The narratives running in the press about Margaret and Jack are categorically untrue. There are no trust issues. There was no infidelity or anything outside of respect and partnership in this relationship,” Qualley’s rep said in a statement provided to multiple US outlets.

“They have deep love and care for one another. There are only two people in this marriage, and the sources who are talking to the press and commenting on their relationship are not people who know them. Please respect their privacy.”

The response follows reports earlier this week that Qualley, 31, and Antonoff, 42, had separated after almost three years of marriage.

Speculation intensified after Antonoff attended Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s New York wedding celebrations alone. He’s best known for writing hits with the singer.

Fans also noticed that several photographs from the couple’s 2023 wedding had disappeared from the actress’s Instagram account.

Qualley also changed her Instagram handle from @isimostar to @sarahmargaretqualley23 in April.

The Maid star’s old handle was a nod to “Isimo,” a track by Antonoff’s band, Bleachers.

The A-list couple were first linked in 2021 after they were photographed together in New York before making their red carpet debut the following year.

They went public with their relationship at the March 2022 AFI Awards Luncheon supporting Qualley’s Netflix series, Maid.

By May 2022, news of their engagement was officially confirmed. They tied the knot in August 2023 in New Jersey, with plenty of celebrity guests in attendance including Swift, Channing Tatum, Zoë Kravitz, Cara Delevingne and Lana Del Rey.

Qualley, daughter of actress Andie MacDowell, previously said marriage felt like a natural next step because they had already been living as husband and wife.

“I really love the security of it,” she said in a 2024 interview with Elle UK.

She also recalled knowing almost immediately that Antonoff was the person she would marry, saying she had a “sure, knowing feeling” only weeks after they met.

The news of their split came just weeks before their third wedding anniversary.
