MAFS’ Rhi Disljenkovic on ‘daunting’ reality of future family plans after Jeff Gobbels split

Married at First Sight star Rhi Disljenkovic has shared a candid update on how her life has changed following her split from Jeff Gobbels.

The pair shared the news of their separation on June 2 after two years together. Now, Disljenkovic, 36, has opened up about single life, and her stance on one day wanting children.

In a video posted to Instagram, Disljenkovic told her followers that she wanted to be open with them and detail some aspects of her life she “did not expect to be doing at this age”.

“One I think about quite a lot is not knowing when kids fit into the picture anymore,” she said.

“As everyone is pretty aware I was talking about preparing my body for a baby, and now that the plan has changed, it is a bit daunting not knowing when I’m actually going to be having children.”

Disljenkovic shared that she has a history of endometriosis, which can affect a woman’s fertility.

“I think it’s one of those things that you’re not going to know, and I keep um-ing and ah-ing, and I think I’m just going to decide over the next few months.”

The couple revealed the news of their split in separate Instagram posts, neither sharing the reason but both acknowledging it was “one of the hardest decisions” they ever had to make.

In her latest post, Dislejenkovic confirmed that Gobbels has since moved out of their apartment, as she considered the potential of looking for a roommate.

“When something big happens in your life, it’s very easy to dramatise things, you have to start again, like right back to the start, but you’re not right back to the start because you have learned so many new things of what you will accept in a relationship, what you won’t accept,” she said.

“I think that you have better luck actually finding your person once you have learned these new things about yourself.

“Realising the life that I pictured isn’t the only one that’s going to make me happy because life throws so many curveballs at you, and it’s never going to be exactly how you planned.

“And just because it’s not going to plan doesn’t mean that you won’t be happy if that plan changes.”
