MAFS’ Jeff Gobbels shares emotional first video following Rhi Disljenkovic split

Married At First Sight groom Jeff Gobbels has shared an emotional apology in a video following his and Rhi Disljenkovic’s break-up.
Jeff thanked fans for their messages of support after the former couple broke the news in separate online statements earlier this month.

“I truly do appreciate it,” he said.
“I apologise for not responding, friends and family included. Unfortunately, when something shit happens I usually shut most people out and that’s the case again.
“But I’ll try to get back to everyone, I know that you should talk about things, but sometimes it’s just really hard to do that.”
His video comes days after Rhi shared her own post about “finding [her] way back”.
“Life’s looked a little different lately,” she wrote.
“Some days have felt really heavy ... some days have felt really good. Most days have been a mix of both.”
Neither Rhi nor Jeff, 40, has shared the details behind their break-up, but their posts have fans believing Rhi was the one to call it off.
“Sometimes choosing yourself means breaking your own little heart in the process,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, Jeff revealed “unfortunately everything turned out the way I didn’t want it to”.
“I can’t change much now, but I’ll just try to move on now and look at some positives,” he said, including an upcoming solo trip to London.

On June 2, Rhi and Jeff announced their break-up after two years together, confirming rumours that began when fans noticed they had unfollowed and wiped traces of each other from social media.
“With a heavy heart, I want to share that Jeff and I have decided to part ways. This has been one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make,” Rhi wrote.
In his own post, Jeff said: “After a lot of thought, unfortunately, my relationship has ended. This has been an incredibly difficult time, and I’m trying to navigate this as best as I can.”

Famously, the pair briefly dated before meeting again at the altar on season 12 of MAFS.
Rhi and Jeff were a slow burn during their season, but when romance finally sparked midway through, they became the most successful couple and coasted through without a hiccup.
