US reality TV star Tommie Lee faces up to 54 years in jail after being accused of child abuse against her young daughter
A US reality star could face decades in prison after she was indicted on multiple child abuse charges following a dramatic incident at her daughter's school three months ago.
An indictment was filed in Georgia on Thursday accusing Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star Tommie Lee of aggravated assault, child cruelty, battery, aggravated stalking and disrupting a public school. If convicted, she could face up to 54 years in jail.
According to the papers obtained by TMZ, the 37-year-old -- whose real name is Atasha Chizaah Jefferson -- disrupted her young daughter's middle school class back in October, where she allegedly used her purse strap to whip her daughter's hand and before allegedly slapping her in the face.
It was also alleged in the papers that Lee dragged her daughter down the school hall by her hair and threw her inside a locker.
The rapper joined the popular VH1 show in 2016, where she's been filmed boasting about her previous run-ins with authorities -- she even claimed to have been arrested 30 times in the past.
"Half the time I've been on probation without going to prison. Half the time I was put on probation but I was still a bad," she said on the show. "I still would violate probation. I wouldn't do community service, so [I] guess that you get booked again and [then] you got a whole new mugshot."
Lee has since defended her actions on Instagram Stories, questioning their own parenting skills by asking if they've ever attended their children's PTA meetings.
"Quick Question do you know you're child's teachers?" she asked. "Have you sat down with them this year? LoL Nah don't answer that... How About PTA meetings? Outside of Enrollment have you ever Been inside you're [sic] child's school? You Girls Need to Cut it out!!!"
