Lori Loughlin officially files for divorce from Mossimo Giannulli after 28 years of marriage

Lori Loughlin has officially filed for divorce from Mossimo Giannulli after 28 years of marriage. 

The actress, 62, who separated from her former husband last year, filed the paperwork on September 4, citing “irreconcilable differences”, according to Page Six. 

In the documents she confirmed that the date of their separation was on August 31, 2025. 

The Full House star also confirmed they signed a prenuptial agreement on October 28, 1997. That was amended on August 11, 2015, five years before she pleaded guilty to commit wire and mail fraud in the college admissions scandal.

Loughlin also asked for spousal support to be determined later, and requested that all properties, assets and debts be split according to their prenup. 

She has also asked for her estranged husband to cover her attorney’s fees and costs.

TMZ was the first to report the news of the divorce. 

Elizabeth Much, a representative for Loughlin, confirmed the split last year. 

“They are living apart and taking a break from their marriage. There are no legal proceedings at this time,” Much said in a statement released in October. 

Sources have claimed their relationship never fully recovered from the weight of the college admissions scandal.

The former couple share two children together, Isabella Rose, 27, and Olivia Jade, 26. 

Loughlin returned to social media earlier this month, breaking a seven-year silence on Instagram. 

The actress announced her comeback with a little help from her Full House co-stars including close pal John Stamos.

Loughlin deleted her Instagram account on March 12, 2019, the day the news of the college admissions scandal broke. She had been active on the platform up until the day before.

In the video, Loughlin recreated the iconic Full House scene where Becky Donaldson returns to the Wake Up San Francisco show from maternity leave.

“Hi, I’m Rebecca Donaldson, and I’m welcoming myself back to the show. Welcome back, Becky. Why, thank you, Becky. Welcome back,” Loughlin lip-synced to audio from the 1991 episode.

Her return to social media was celebrated by Full House fans, who were delighted to see her back.

In recent years she has been trying to rebuild her career after the college admission scandal, which saw both her and her estranged husband serve jail time.

In May 2020, Loughlin and Giannulli pled guilty to wire and mail fraud after they were accused of paying US$500,000 for their daughters’ admission to the University of Southern California.

Loughlin was sentenced to two months in federal prison and almost completed her sentence before being released in December 2020.

Ex-husband Giannulli served his five-month prison sentence from November 2020 to April 2021, finishing the final weeks of his term under home confinement.
