Little Britain star Matt Lucas says he was 'thin-shamed' by a stranger at soccer game
Little Britain star Matt Lucas has revealed he was "thin-shamed" by a stranger while watching a soccer game in London over the weekend.
The English actor and comedian shared his experience on Twitter, telling his followers a woman negatively commented on his recent weight loss while he watched Arsenal verse Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
"Shout out to the lady who stopped me at football today to ask me why I've lost weight and to inform me I look a lot older," the 48-year-old tweeted yesterday. "For the first time in my life, I think I've just been thin-shamed."

While the unidentified woman threw an insult his way, Twitter users appeared to side with Lucas.
"You actually look younger and very well, I think you look fantastic," one succinctly wrote.
"You can't win, people always want to point the obvious out then make it seem like you've done wrong," another said. "I think you look great and I just don't get this whole fat and thin shaming, let people be themselves."

Lucas, who is best known for his work on the comedy series Little Britain alongside David Walliams, began his weight loss journey after piling on the weight during the first lockdown in London.
However, by May last year, the actor had lost all the weight – and then some.

"I lost some weight, I needed to take the edge of because I put on a lot of weight in lockdown," he said on the show. "I just had to do something about it."
"I've still got a bit of a tum," he said. "I'm not a skinny minnie."
