Lindsay Lohan hosts lowkey baby shower after announcing she is expecting her first child

Mum-to-be Lindsay Lohan has celebrated the impending arrival of her first child with a lowkey baby shower.

The Parent Trap actress, 36, revealed she is expecting a baby with husband Bader Shammas last month and hosted a shower with her friends and family over the weekend.

Lohan's sister Aliana, 29, her brother Dakota, 26, and mum Dina, 60, all came together to for a rare family reunion to honour the former child star, with several snaps shared onto Instagram.

"Flew into town to shower my gorgeous preggers bestie and glowing mama-to-be," Lohan's friend Juliet Angus wrote on Instagram.

Lohan also shared a sweet photo of herself and Aliana with the simple caption: "Sisters".

Dakota, meanwhile, posted a snap with his brother-in-law Shammas. "Ma brother for life," he wrote alongside the black-and-white image.

The understated bash comes just weeks after the Freaky Friday actress announced she was expecting her first child.

Lohan shared the news with a photo of a baby onesie on Instagram emblazoned with the words "coming soon".

"We are blessed and excited! 🙏🤍👶🍼," she wrote, tagging her husband Shammas.

The couple married in a secret ceremony in July 2022 after announcing their engagement the year prior.

Lohan's mother Dina recently gushed about the impending arrival of her second grandchild in an interview with People earlier this year.

"I'm literally over the moon. I'm so happy, I can't stop smiling," Dina said. 

"It's incredible. We're just so excited. It's just such a beautiful thing for my child! And I love babies. Who doesn't?"

"My oldest baby is having a baby," she added.

"It's so crazy. I'm in disbelief a little bit sometimes because you're like, 'Well... it makes you older clearly!'"

Lohan's husband Shammas was born in Kuwait, and the pair met when Lohan moved to Dubai in 2018 for a fresh start.

Shammas is currently the Assistant Vice President at the investment banking firm Credit Suisse. He previously worked as an associate with BNP Paribas Wealth Management, per his LinkedIn.

The couple have stayed mum on the sex of their baby and the due date.
