In 2020 Laura Whitmore became the host of one of the most wildly popular reality series on the planet – Love Island UK.

During her three years hosting the show, its reunions, and Love Island: Aftersun, Whitmore was first in line to speak to the contestants about all things love and dating.

But there's one topic of conversation Whitmore has shied away from: her own romance.

The Irish media star has been married to Love Island UK narrator Iain Stirling since 2020 and recently started the podcast Partners in Crime together.

Now in a new interview, Whitmore has explained why she's "not in a place" to talk about her husband and their three-year-old daughter Stevie Ré.

"I will talk to my friends and family about them until the cows come home, but I'm not in a place to talk about it too much publicly," she told Hello! Magazine.

The star then added how her time as a journalist impacted her decision to stay private.

"I think it also comes from interviewing so many people that might have given too much away. So, I'm probably a little over-cautious due to seeing other people being teared down," Whitmore explained to the outlet.

"Talking about them feels like too much responsibility, maybe that will change – but at the moment, I just don't feel comfortable with it."
