Kylie Jenner named world's youngest self-made billionaire for the second year in a row

Kylie Jenner has been named the world's youngest self-made billionaire for the second year in a row.

The 22-year-old topped the Forbes list thanks to her Kylie Cosmetics business, which continues to grow.

The youngest entrepreneur of the Kardashian clan sold a 51 percent stake in the business to COTY in November, earning herself a cool $US600 million ($969m).

And Jenner has been sharing the wealth recently, donating $US1 million ($1.6m) to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, where her daughter Stormi was born, for coronavirus relief.

She and her mother Kris Jenner also recently announced that their skincare brand Kylie Skin would make hand santiser to help the fight against COVID-19.

Jenner also took to Instagram to promote staying home, using the platform to spread the message to her more than 160 million followers.

"Hey guys. Happy self quarantine!" Jenner said on her Instagram stories.

"I know I've already been doing my daily reminders about how important it is right now to practice social distancing and self quarantine. I'm going on my ninth day. The coronavirus is a real thing.

"I listened to the Surgeon General this morning and even though I've already been doing my daily reminders, he definitely encouraged me to come on here and talk to you guys so you can see me and hear me."

Jenner pleaded for her followers to stay inside, saying, "Practice social distancing, self quarantine."

Earlier this year, the billionaire also donated AU$1.5 million to the Australia bushfire relief efforts.

With an estimated net worth of $US1 billion ($1.6b), Jenner is one of only three self-made billionaires to feature in the Top 10.

The title of the richest billionaire under 30 goes to John Collison of payments startup Stripe.

The Irish-born billionaire is estimated to be worth $US3.2 billion ($5.2b).
