Kevin Costner claims estranged wife secretly charged $130k on his credit card after split

Kevin Costner has aired a new claim in court amid his divorce from Christine Baumgartner, alleging his estranged wife secretly charged money to his credit card after their split.

The Yellowstone star, 68, accused the designer, 49, of charging $US95,000 (approx. $130,000) to his card "without prior notice" to allegedly fund expenses for their ongoing divorce, paying the money to lawyers and a forensic accountant, according to Page Six.

Costner claimed that Baumgartner's alleged actions placed her in breach of their pre-marital agreement, the details of which his ex reportedly wants the public to see. Neither Costner nor Baumgartner, however, have publicly commented on the claims.

With a reported net worth of $362 million however, the Bodyguard star is allegedly afraid that the release of his financial information will put him at risk of "irreparable harm" by fraudsters, burglars and "unwanted and embarrassing global media attention".

This is not the first term of the couple's prenuptial agreement that Costner claims Baumgartner has violated.

The news comes shortly after it was reported that Costner turned to legal action in an attempt to get Baumgartner to move out of the couple's shared $210 million house in California.

Documents filed by Costner claimed Baumgartner was refusing to vacate their home, in breach of the pair's prenup agreement, which gives the model a 30 day period after filing for divorce to move off of their property.

The Dances With Wolves actor-director told the court he believes that the former model is staying in the home to persuade him to give into "various financial demands".

Despite Costner claiming that, under the terms of the prenuptial agreement, he had already provided Baumgartner with $US1.45 million (approx. $2.1 million), the Bodyguard star told the court he was willing to "contribute as part of his child support obligations $US30,000 [approx. $44,000] per month for a rental house and is willing to advance another $US10,000 [approx. $15,000] for her moving costs."

In May, Costner's wife Christine Baumgartner filed for divorce from the actor after 18 years of marriage with "irreconcilable differences" cited as the reason in the filing.

"It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action," Costner's representative's statement said to multiple outlets at the time, confirming the split.

"We ask that his, Christine's and their children's privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time."

According to the court documents, Baumgartner stated the couple separated on April 11. Costner filed his response one day later, also listing irreconcilable differences as the cause of the divorce.

It's been reported he was blindsided by the split.
