In the documentary, Katie Price: Nothing to Hide, the kids broke down while they recalled details of their childhood.

They got emotional as they spoke about a time in their lives where they fed themselves by microwaving meals, because their mum was struggling with her mental health and cocaine addiction.

’[It was] awful. They are amazing. And when they done (sic) the interview, they said: ‘Mum if we’re going to do this, we’re going to be brutally honest,’” Price told the This Morning hosts.

“I said, ‘That’s all I want you to do.’ I said, ’I don’t want anyone to polish anything. I want you to speak from your heart.”

Price admitted she never knew how much they struggled during that time in their lives.

“I never knew cause obviously I wanted to kill myself and I did try it and you’re seeing it, that period of my life I don’t think people realised when I say I had a breakdown, I literally wanted to die, I didn’t want to be here,” Price said.

“And so as much as I wanted to, I thought I was being the mum. I wasn’t.

“I was vacant and for young kids like that wanting their mum, but me thinking even though I know what I was going through, still trying going to be the perfect mum, and I obviously wasn’t.

“Kills me, that I put them through that.”

Price said they’ve come through this together, and both of them now feel like they have their mum back.

“But what confused them is, I was such an amazing mum. Always been an amazing mum. Had the breakdown. [They] Didn’t have the mum that they needed and wanted,” she continued.

“I wasn’t mentally there to be able to do it. And it kills me that I put them through that. Like when Princess, because I always spray perfume and stuff knowing that she was smelling her blanket with her mum, and the kids knowing I wasn’t right.

“It’s awful. But at the end of the day, it’s real life. It can happen to anyone at the same time.”

The breakdown occurred in the late 2010s, after the end of Price’s marriage to Kieran Hayler.

“That was probably the most difficult time of my life, our lives,” Junior, 21, said in the documentary.

“We as siblings just kind of looked after each other. I remember me trying to figure out if food was microwavable to feed us for dinner.”

Princess, 19, added: “She’d give me a blanket and spray her perfume on it, and that was my attachment to her.”

“I used to go home and feel so lonely I would just cuddle the blanket and cry.”

Junior added in part: “Mum was on drugs and she couldn’t look after us and that was the reality of it.”

“Then I got fed up and clocked this was a very unhealthy environment and I needed to get out.”

Junior went to live with his dad Peter Andre, while Princess stayed with her mum at the time.

Price also spoke about her new husband Lee Andrews during her This Morning interview, and said her family refuse to meet him when he comes back to the UK.

“So when he does come to England, he said he’ll do a lie detector test, but it’s become such a gimmicky joke now, no one believes it’s even a marriage now, it’s just not fair.

“Especially like my family, they don’t want nothing to do with him and you can’t blame them because what’s out there.

“I want them to [meet Lee], but at the moment they’re like ‘no’, because they’re protecting me.”
