John Cena details 21 hours of surgery after trolling from fans: ‘Totally changed my life’
Former WWE star John Cena arrived at Comic-Con at the weekend with a very different look – after his second hair transplant surgery in less than two years.
The Peacemaker star, 49, appeared at the event with a new shaved hairstyle, which he said was due to an eight-hour hair loss treatment operation.

Cena first underwent a 13-and-a-half-hour surgery in November 2024, meaning he has now spent more than 21 hours under the knife for the transplants.
He told People he was so impressed by the work of his doctor, Ken Anderson, that he returned for a follow-up after just 15 months.
“I went back to him like, ‘Man, you did great. I have this one small, small, small spot. Can you do it?’” Cena said.
“He’s like, ‘I can. My best results are – if you’re bold enough to shave your head, I can keep the follicles’.”
Cena was now sporting his shaved hair look, with “full trust and faith in him with this process”.
He said of Anderson, “I love the guy. He’s totally changed my life.”
The actor had previously said he had taken the leap after trolling from WWE audiences, telling People he had noticed signs saying “The bald John Cena” in the crowd.
He also said on the Pat McAfee Show that fan chants left him feeling “small” and embarrassed.
“Y’all don’t know what that’s like. That is straight-up bullying. That’s just not cool. I don’t like it,” he said.
“So, thank you for bullying me into getting surgical hair replacement. That’s how far y’all push me.”

Cena had chosen to speak about his procedures to combat shame surrounding the topic.
“I hate the fact that if there wasn’t so much shame around it, I’d have gotten it done 10 years ago,” Cena told People.

“I thought I was alone, but seven or eight out of 10 [men] suffer from thinning or baldness.”
Cena is in good company, with other stars such as Elton John, AJ McLean and Joel McHale also being open about their hair transplant surgery.
