Jeremy Clarkson shares brutal reality of running a farm during UK’s heatwave

Jeremy Clarkson has shared a brutal update on social media. The Top Gear alum has given followers a glimpse into the difficulties of running a farm during a heat wave.

While the UK suffers through uncharacteristically hot weather, Clarkson took to Instagram to share an update on how it’s affected his work at Diddly Squat Farm.

Clarkson’s farm is located in the Cotswolds, an area of the UK that is currently under a yellow heat health alert and is also suffering from drought conditions.

“Harvest already f---ed. May as well just enjoy it now,” Clarkson wrote on Instagram alongside a screenshot of the weather forecast.

While some in the comments accused Clarkson’s post of being out of touch and entitled, claiming that since he’s “a multi-millionaire”, things can’t be that bad. However, most of Clarkson’s followers left messages of support.

“As a Canadian watching this show I am fascinated by the challenges a farmer faces (in my country as well). Is the govt stepping in during this drought with any emergency assistance? Is that even a thing??” One fan wrote.

Clarkson’s update comes just a few months after he revealed his battle with prostate cancer.

In the final episodes of the most recent season of Clarkson’s Farm, the 66-year-old told Kaleb Cooper and Charlie Ireland about his diagnosis.

“I had a medical, you remember, back in May? I disappeared off the other week and I had a biopsy and it is cancer and it’s aggressive, but it’s really early,” he said.

“I was praying we could get the harvest done and then I could go and get some treatment but it’s going to be slap bang in the middle.”

Around one week after the episode aired, Clarkson shared that he is now in remission.

“The more observant among you will have noticed that I’m not dead. And I’m not just not dead, I’m perfectly fine,” he joked in a video shared to Instagram.

“The reason why I’m fine is because the doctors caught the prostate cancer early. And they caught it early because I got tested.”

He urged his followers to get tested, even telling them to “lie” if doctors refuse on the grounds of having no symptoms.

“It’s not uncomfortable, it’s not undignified. And it’s a no-brainer,” he said.

“I did, and that’s why I’m sitting here talking to you 11 months down the line. I’ve seen so many people die of cancer.”
