'Losing my mind': Jacob Elordi buys once-in-a-lifetime gift for Aussie fan he met on flight
EXCLUSIVE: Australian heartthrob Jacob Elordi didn't just give his autograph to one lucky fan – he went out and bought them a once-in-a-lifetime souvenir.
The Oscar nominee purchased and signed a copy of Wuthering Heights while at an airport this week, giving it to a surprised Aussie he met on his flight.
That Aussie was Patricia Albassit, who has shared the encounter in a TikTok video that has now racked up 1.6 million views – and revealed exactly what happened to nine.com.au.

"So just randomly met Jacob Elordi 🫠," she captioned the post under the TikTok handle @patriciaalbassit.
Albassit shared a photo she took with Elordi while flying business class. She was sitting in the same row as the star and almost didn't recognise him at first.
She then shared a photo of the signed book with a sweet message that read: "Dear Patricia! I hope the sun comes out for you today. Love, Heathcliff."

The message was signed with Elordi's autograph. The star famously played the lead role of Heathcliff in the 2026 'Wuthering Heights' movie adaptation.
"I remember I was having a bad day," Patricia recalled to nine.com.au.
"I was on my phone before the flight took off and then I just saw him, it didn't click at first because it was just a normal flight. But I was like, 'Is he Jacob Elordi?'
"Then he put his carry-on in the overhead locker and I was like, 'Oh my god, that is Jacob Elordi!'"
"The whole flight he was reading a script with his headphones on," she recalled.
But towards the end of the flight, the actor stood up and started talking to another passenger. Albassit knew that was her chance.
"I was like, 'Look, I've had a really bad day and I've been trying to figure out what to say this whole flight but I'm sorry to bother you, I just want to say hi,'" she revealed.
Albassit said when the planed landed, she and another passenger he was talking to said bye to the actor.
"Then he's like, 'Hey, can you give me two minutes, please?'"
"He was very funny and very chill." Getty
Elordi then went into a shop, "came out with the book and signed it! We hugged and I was like, 'Wow, how tall are you?'"
"Sweetest human," she added.
The other passenger, revealed to be a mum, was gifted a book too with her own special message inside.
Fans of the star rushed to the comments to share their reactions, with one follower writing: "What do you mean he BOUGHT IT FOR YOU and signed as HEATCLIFF".
One TikTok user pointed out that it was their mum "sitting next to" Elordi on the flight.

Albassit replied: "Sweetest mum you have. We were both dying! And literally we were walking out [with] him off the plane and he was talking to us like his friends!"
"Love, Heathcliff" I AM LOSING MY MIND," wrote another fan in a comment that has amassed over 15k likes.
"For my mental health, this is AI," another follower joked.
This isn't the first time a fan encounter with Elordi has made waves online.
Last month, two newsagency workers got the shock of their lives when the actor strolled into their store in a small northern NSW town.

Shop attendants Jordan and Maddie told Today they couldn't believe their eyes when they realised who it was.
"We saw him outside, and we both paused and thought, 'Hang on, is that THE Jacob Elordi?'" Maddi said on the morning show.
"We started shaking and just said [to each other], 'Be calm, don't freak out'."
Shop attendants said the actor was nothing but nice and spoke to them "for a while." Nine
Elordi, who primarily resides in LA, touched down in Australia in February with co-star Margot Robbie for the final stop of their Wuthering Heights world press tour.
The actors delighted fans at the Australian premiere in Sydney for their steamy new take on the classical romance movie.
The star duo surprised fans, appearing at several screenings of the film across Brisbane and Sydney and even handed out roses and sweets to thrilled moviegoers.
