Christina Applegate gives a raw update on her health after revealing MS misdiagnosis: ‘Don’t know what’s going on’
Christina Applegate has given an update on her health, a week after she revealed that she was misdiagnosed with MS since 2021.
The 54-year-old actress opened up in the latest episode of the MeSsy podcast, which she co-hosts alongside Jamie Lynn Sigler and reassured the MS community that she is “still your warrior”.

"I'm still going to speak out on your behalf forever and ever," she said on the latest episode of their podcast.
"I still feel like part of this community and no matter what I love you."
When Sigler asked how she was doing now, Applegate noted she was feeling “OK” when it came to her health, but she’s been overwhelmed by the support she’s received since opening up about the misdiagnosis.
The pair started their podcast after both experiencing MS, and despite the latest update on Applegate’s health, the podcast will continue as is.
“This is just about our lives and the messiness of life in general. It was never meant to be solely MS focused,” Sigler confirmed.
The Married… With Children star explained that the reaction to her misdiagnosis had confused plenty of listeners, but she admitted she felt the same way when she got the news.
“On the daily, I don’t even understand what the heck’s going on, so I’m sure that news coming to people, that’s an adjustment,” she explained.
“A lot of people are going, ‘Oh snap, I should check this out.’ But I never wanted to cause a hysteria in any way, shape or form.”

Sigler praised her for being so open about the misdiagnosis and that for how she has inspired listeners to be more alert when it comes to their health.
With no clear diagnosis for her ongoing health battles, Applegate shared an update on the issues she’s currently facing.
"I actually timed it today. It took me 10 minutes to be able to move off my pillow and get out of the bed and stand up. I don't know what's going on. This is what I am still living with," she explained.
Applegate said it was like “living in no-man’s land” and admitted it was overwhelming not knowing what she was suffering from, or if there’s even a cure out there.

As for her next steps to get answers, she will be seeing a rheumatologist and go from there.
"If that doesn't come with any kind of results, then we're going to go to a different specialist and then a different specialist," she added.
“That starts to overwhelm me… I think I just have to go, all right, one step at a time.”
Earlier this month Applegate shared the shocking news that her doctors confirmed that she did not have MS and was misdiagnosed.
“You don’t get misdiagnosed and then all of the sudden I’m better,” she explained. Getty
“[My doctor] came into my room and said, ‘Congratulations, you don’t have MS,’” she recalled through tears.
“I was, like, not happy at all. Everybody else was so happy.”
For Applegate, the new information on her health has made things so much worse, leaving her with more questions than answers.
“You don’t get misdiagnosed and then all of the sudden I’m better,” she explained in a previous episode of their podcast.
The Dead to Me star was originally diagnosed with MS in 2021, but now there will be an investigation into what is causing her health struggles.
“That’s going to be an online investigation that my doctors are going to be getting into, just to find out what has been going on since 2021, why did this happen?” she explained.
