'Love of my life': Heather Locklear mourns the loss of her father
Heather Locklear has paid tribute to her father, Bill Locklear, while announcing his death.
The author and actress, 62, informed her fans of her loss when she posted an emotional tribute to her Instagram.
"The most brilliant man I have ever known," she started the message.

"The bar is oh so high. The love of my life. The few the proud. I love you dad. RIP."
Friends, family and fans gathered in the comments to share love and condolences to the actress.
Locklear's ex-husband, Tommy Lee, wrote, "Gonna miss that man and his beautiful spirit! 💥 I'm sorry for you and your familys loss Heather 🤍"
Brittany Furlan Lee commented, "So glad I got to meet him. Sending you all the love ❤️."

Fellow actress Mary-Margaret Humes also shared a tribute.
"I remember meeting him when I was with you many years ago …he was so handsome and kind … sending love to you and your family today. Godspeed sweet dad ❤️💫," she wrote.
In 2021, the Melrose Place alum spoke with People about her life in her sixties and her biopic Don't Sweat the Small Stuff: The Kristine Carlson Story.
"I've always loved getting older because it means I'm alive," she told the publication during the interview.
"I'm so grateful. I don't really give a hoot. I don't give a hoot about how I look. My parents still love me. My daughter loves me."
The actress is engaged to Chris Heisser, who she dated back in high school.

Heisser and Heather had been on and off before reconnecting only a few years ago.
The pair, whose birthdays are only days apart, celebrated their 60th birthday together.
