Harry Styles appears to choke on water, collapses mid-concert during heatwave

Fans were left concerned after British singer Harry Styles appeared to choke on a sip of water and collapse on stage while performing amid a heatwave. 

During the 32-year-old’s 12-night residency at Wembley Stadium in the UK, something appeared to go wrong during one of his signature moves.

During his show on Friday, June 26 (Saturday, June 27 in Australia), the former One Direction star performed his fan-favourite “whale” move, in which he spits water in the air like a whale’s spout as he closed his concert with his hit As It Was.

This time, after Styles blew the water into the air, he fell to the ground and lay still before heaving and coughing, appearing to choke on the remaining water in his mouth, raising his fist to his mouth.

He lay there for several moments before he got back up and ran around the stage, waving to fans and assuring them that he was fine. 

Many fans took to social media with videos of the incident at all angles, sharing their concern in the comments.

“The man collapsed,” one person who uploaded a video observed. 

“How come no one came and checked on him???” another user commented on a TikTok video of the moment. 

“Serious or not, he does need to be careful though,” another fan said, pointing out that it was “incredibly hot” in the UK. 

The country is undergoing a massive heatwave, with the UK’s record for the hottest day in June being broken for a third day in a row, as per the BBC. 

On the day in question, temperatures hit 36 degrees Celsius in London, where the singer performed with his back covered in sweat. 

The singer has not yet officially commented on the incident and performed his next show the following day.
