Double takes as one of the world's most famous people is spotted competing in marathon incognito
Marathon runners in Germany have been left delighted and surprised by a celebrity participant jogging alongside them.
Harry Styles was spotted competing in the Berlin Marathon on September 21, completing the event in under three hours.
Organisers confirmed to AP that Styles took part and local newspaper Der Tagesspiegel was the first to report his participation.
Styles, 31, who has forged a successful acting career following his star turn as part of the band One Direction, completed the marathon in 59 minutes and 13 seconds.
The singer competed under the pseudonym Sted Sarandos, thought to be inspired by Ted Sarandos, the co-CEO of Netflix.
Styles was spotted by some fellow competitors, with Paralympic gold medal-winning runner Richard Whitehead snapping a photo of Styles and posting it on social media.
In the photo, Styles is wearing black shorts and a blue Adidas tracksuit jacket.

"2.58 in Berlin with my mate!! Anyone know him!! 😂," Whitehead, 49, shared on Instagramon Sunday.
Additional photos and footage have been shared on social media.
"Styles was among some 55,000 runners taking part in the race on what is widely regarded as the fastest marathon track in the world," AP reports.
Less than three hours is an impressive feat for any participant in the marathon.
Local news service Der Tagesspiegel reported Styles was already spotted running in Berlin in preparation for Sunday's race.
Styles has previously competed in marathons, including the Tokyo Marathon in March.
Footage of this event was also shared on social media, with the star completing this one in three hours, 24 minutes and seven seconds.

Styles has reportedly been dating actress Zoe Kravitz since August. The pair have been spotted together in Rome, Italy.
