Gordon Ramsay's daughter Holly announces engagement to Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty

Gordon Ramsay is set to walk his daughter Holly Ramsay down the aisle.

The 24-year-old announced her engagement to British Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty in a bikini-clad holiday post to social media on Thursday, showing off the sparkler.

"I am marrying my best friend," the fashion designer said.

"I truly cannot put into words how I am feeling right now. I still remember how big my smile was the morning I got home from my first date with you.

"Thank you for letting the little girl inside of me feel loved, seen and happier than ever. I love you & I cannot wait to be your wife."

Holly made mention of Peaty's son from his previous relationship with Welsh artist Eirianedd Munro, saying she was looking forward to her role as step-mum to the toddler.

"I promise to always be there with you and George, I'm so greatful (sic) to be in his life and I cannot wait for more," she wrote.

"Everything is better with you. Everything has been better since you. Here's to forever. "

Holly was alongside George in Paris as they cheered on Peaty, who took home silver for Team GB in the 100m breaststroke.

Peaty also paid tribute to his bride-to-be in a separate post announcing their engagement.

"Seeing you show the love you give to the most important person in my life, George, even from day one, there was never a question about you becoming my wife one day," he said.

"I'm looking forward to our life together and the many challenges we'll face."

He also gave a shoutout to Gordon and wife Tana Ramsay, saying Holly's family had "always treated me so generously with their time, emotion and trust".

The carousel of images shared by the couple gave fans a look at the oval halo-style ring, which appears to feature a yellow diamond in the centre.

Holly, who has a twin brother, Jack, is the celebrity chef's second daughter. Gordon has six kids, welcoming his youngest just last year.

The proud dad shared his congratulations online, with a sweet daddy-daughter image and a funny end to his caption.

"Congratulations to this gorgeous girl @hollyramsayy….so happy for you and @adam_peaty," he said.

"Hols, watching you become the woman you are today with your kindness and your love is absolutely infectious…Adam is a very lucky man! Welcome to the family."
