The actress previously spurred speculation when she referred to Gosling as her "husband".

"Everyone is so welcoming here, and my husband Ryan is here and we are having the best time," she once said on the Today show during an interview.

In another rare interview, she opened up about her approach to parenting.

She became emotional and fought back tears as she spoke about how she hates that she sometimes "yells" at her kids.

The Hitch star, who has Cuban heritage, also said she's trying her best as a mother to not raise their kids by "fear".

"What pattern do you think has been hardest to break as a mother?" Mendes was asked while appearing on Parenting & You by Dr. Shefali.

''Yelling... because I don't yell when they need me. I've never yelled, like, 'Shut up' or anything," Mendes explained.

"It's not in my mind, like, a 'mean' yell, but it doesn't matter. I yell. And it's this yelling that I find so cultural.

''I'm having a hard time getting through and not yelling. The rushing and the yelling, that's the hardest thing for me."

Mendes added that growing up, she thinks she was raised through "fear".
