Three major TV cast reunions just went down on the 2024 Emmys stage
It doesn't matter if a show wrapped up five years ago or 50 years ago, everyone loves a good TV cast reunion.
Three major shows held cast reunions onstage at the 2024 Emmy Awards, and they were Schitt's Creek, The West Wing, and Happy Days.

The West Wing
Several big-name cast members from TV classic The West Wing reunited on stage at the Emmys to present the award for Outstanding Drama Series, which went to Shogun.
Martin Sheen was joined by Dule Hill, Janel Moloney, Richard Schiff, and Allison Janney to hand out the gong, which felt fitting, given The West Wing nabbed almost 30 Emmys in its seven-year run.
The cast of the American political drama came together in a set that was almost identical to the Oval Office set from the show, where countless iconic scenes were filmed.
While introducing the award they were there to present, Janney quipped that way back in the 2000s when the show aired, writers "actually had to use their imaginations to create interesting plot lines".
Today, on the other hand, "storylines can be plucked right off the news, storylines that writers would have deemed a bit far-fetched if not utterly ridiculous 25 years ago", Schiff said.
The cast then urged Americans to vote in the upcoming US election.
The West Wing first aired in 1999 and ran until 2006, following the story of fictional democratic President Josiah Bartlet, played by Sheen.
The core cast included Dulé Hill as Charlie Young, Allison Janney as C. J. Cregg, Richard Schiff as Toby Ziegler and Janel Moloney as Donna Moss, among others.
The show collected a staggering 100 awards out of 289 nominations in that time. Of those nominations, 98 were for Emmy Awards, and the TV show took home 27.
Happy Days
Happy Days alums Ron Howard and Henry Winkler returned to the iconic Arnold's Drive In fans know and love to hand out the award for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series, 50 years on from the show first airing in 1974.
"This is fantastic," said 70-year-old Howard, who played Richie Cunningham, as he took in the nostalgic set.
"Feels like home," added 78-year-old Winkler, who Arthur Fonzarelli, better known as 'The Fonz'.
In a cheeky throwback to the show, Howard urged Winkler to get the jukebox going, at which point he gave it a smack and got the iconic theme song to start playing.
The duo cracked a few more jokes before handing the award to Christopher Storer for The Bear.
Happy Days was a family-friendly sitcom that followed the story of the Cunningham family, including Howard as Richie Cunningham, Marion Ross as mother Marion Cunningham, Tom Bosley as father Howard Cunningham, and Erin Moran as younger sister Joanie Cunningham.
The show ran from January 15, 1974, to July 19, 1984, airing a whopping 255 half-hour episodes in that time.
Despite running for 11 seasons and becoming one of the biggest shows on TV in the '70s and '80s, Happy Days was only ever nominated for nine Emmy Awards and only managed to win one for Outstanding Film Editing in a Comedy Series in 1978.
Schitt's Creek
The cast of Schitt's Creek also reunited on stage at the 2024 Emmy Awards, though it was probably to be expected given that father-son duo Eugene Levy and Dan Levy (who play Johnny Rose and son David in the show) were hosting the ceremony.
They were joined by Annie Murphy (who played Alexis Rose) to introduce the final award of the night, Outstanding Comedy Series, which went to Hacks.
But they couldn't resist getting in a few cheeky jokes first.
"Oh my gosh, it's my TV sister Annie Murphy!" Dan said to Murphy, who replied by quipping that "the shining star of Schitt's Creek is going to present the final award of the night" before taking centre stage.
Eugene joked that there had been "a little confusion", but Murphy brushed him off, saying, "that's fine, you can stay on stage, but just kind of scooch back a little bit".
The trio then handed over to TV mother-slash-wife Catherine O'Hara, who handed out the award in signature Moira Rose style.
After reading out the list of nominees, she tore up the winner's envelope right there on stage... only to reveal it was a fake and produce the real envelope from where it had been secretly pinned behind her back.
It's exactly the kind of antics fans would expect from her Schitt's Creek character.
Premiering in 2015 and wrapping up in 2020, Schitt's Creek was the sitcom brainchild of Dan and Eugene Levy.
It follows the lives of the wealthy Rose family after they lose their riches to a business manager who embezzled from the family business, leaving Johnny, Moira and their two adult children broke in the back end town of Schitt's Creek.
The show was nominated for 19 Emmy Awards, including a whopping 15 for its sixth season, which broke the record for he most Emmy nominations given to a comedy series in its final season. It won nine.
