Ed Sheeran reveals he found out about Shane Warne's death via paparazzi
Ed Sheeran has recalled the devastating way he was told of the death of his good friend, Shane Warne.
Speaking to the Hit Network's Carrie & Tommy radio program, the British singer said it was a paparazzo on a London street who informed him that the cricketer had passed away earlier this month.
At the time, Sheeran was emerging from a courthouse, where has been battling to prove he did not copy portions of his 2017 hit 'Shape of You' from another artist.

"I came out of court on the first day to a paparazzi saying, 'What do you think about your friend Shane dying?'" Sheeran recalled on the radio show. "I feel I haven't quite been able to process or grieve anything because I've been [in court] 10 to 5 every single day in this thing. It's really, really sad."
"I love Shane and I have an amazing last memory of me and him at a Coldplay gig together and I'm grateful," he added.
The 31-year-old also touched on the death of Aussie music mogul Michael Gudinski, who died suddenly at the age of 68 in March 2021.
"It's the same with Michael," Sheeran continued. "I'm grateful for all the memories that I do have and I'm sad about all the memories I won't make anymore."

Sheeran first met Warne in 2014 when he was in Australia for the Logies. The duo stayed in hotel rooms next to each other and instantly became good friends.
In March last year, when Sheeran was back in Melbourne for Gudinski's memorial service, he and Warne met up for a boys' night with the cricketer's son, Jackson.
"Great hanging out with these legends," Warne captioned a photo from the outing at the time.
