Singer Dionne Warwick serves up epic response after falling victim to online death hoax
Legendary musician Dionne Warwick has addressed a death hoax rumour circulating online about her.
The rumours began earlier this week when a Twitter user shared a screenshot of a YouTube video with the bogus title, "The Life and Sad Ending of Dionne Warwick." But it was all news to the 80-year-old.
"Oh no!" she hilariously replied, while retweeting the message.
Hours later, the 'That's What Friends Are For' singer also posted a video with the caption, "Proof of life. Goodnight from a very alive Dionne Warwick."
In the clip, the industry veteran laughed off the rumours and said she was still very much "alive and kicking". Warwick playfully scolded fans as this was not the first time she was the target of a death hoax.
"This is the second time y'all made me dead, which I think is not very nice," she said.

Warwick is proving to be the Twitter queen we didn't know we needed. In recent months, she has jokingly questioned musicians, such as The Weeknd and Chance the Rapper, about the stage names they use.
"Hi, @chancetherapper. If you are very obviously a rapper why did you put it in your stage name? I cannot stop thinking about this," she mused back in December, before joking, "I am now Dionne the Singer."
Warwick also wondered what the logic was behind The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Makkonen Tesfaye.
"If you have 'The' in your name i'm coming for you. I need answers today," she tweeted that same month. "The Weeknd is next. Why? It's not even spelled correctly?"
