Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin's driver allegedly injures a pedestrian

Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson got caught up in a car accident on Tuesday in New York City.

The couple's driver allegedly injured a pedestrian by driving over their foot, the Blast reports.

The stars were in the vehicle with Martin's son, Moses, when their large SUV allegedly didn't stop at a red light and had a run in with a 25-year-old woman crossing the road.

"The pedestrian suffered pain to her right foot and was transported to an area hospital," a source told Radar.

Exclusive images appear to show Martin, 42, and Johnson, 29, stepping out of the vehicle and comforting the woman as she is taken away in an ambulance.

The situation unfolded straight after Johnson featured on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday night, where she spoke about the backlash surrounding her gap tooth being closed.

Johnson recently upset her fans when she stepped out at a movie premiere for her new film, The Peanut Butter Falcon, without her signature smile.

In the interview she addressed the change in her appearance and admitted she was "sad too".

"So I had a permanent retainer since I was 13 and it was glued to the back of my teeth and I was having a lot of neck problems recently so my orthodontist she decided that it would be a good idea to take it off and see if my jaw expanded," Johnson told Jimmy Fallon. "It helped me and my gap closed by itself."

Johnson and Martin have been dating since October 2017.
