Comedian Russell Howard announces devastating death of his ‘beautiful baby boy’ after birth
British comedian Russell Howard has announced the passing of his baby son, Felix, in what he describes as the “most devastating time of our lives.”
Howard, 46, revealed his “beautiful baby boy”, who he welcomed with wife Cerys Morgan, died earlier this year just hours after being born.

“Earlier this year, our family changed forever,” wrote Howard in a heartbreaking statement shared online. “Our beautiful baby boy, Felix, died shortly after birth.”
Howard and his wife had not publicly announced they were expecting their second child.
The star praised the hospital staff for their “extraordinary compassion, kindness and humanity” during the difficult time.
“They helped us navigate an unimaginable heartache and gave us support when we needed it most,” he wrote.
The stand-up comedian, who has sold out arenas worldwide, personally thanked their bereavement midwife, Lauren.
He revealed their midwife had “experienced a similar tragedy” after losing her own baby, inspiring her to take up the profession.
“Her care meant more to us than we can ever put into words,” he said.

He revealed his son was placed in a “cool cot” during their time in the hospital so he and his wife could “spend precious hours with our beautiful boy”.
“We could hold him, talk to him and tell him just how much we loved him,” Howard shared.
In the same post, Howard announced the launch of a new foundation, The Felix Foundation, honouring their late son.
The foundation hopes to help families facing the “same devastating” ordeals, through the training and support of midwives, resource funding, equipment, guidance and awareness of both pregnancy loss and neonatal loss.
Howard has also announced a comedy fundraiser, held at The O2 in London early next year.
World-renowned comedians Jimmy Carr, Guz Khan, Michael McIntyre, Aisling Bea, Greg Davies, Mo Gilligan, Michelle Wolf and John Bishop will be supporting Howard in “a cause that means everything to our family” he wrote.
“Every single one of these incredible performers is giving their time completely free of charge. I will never forget their generosity.”
Howard and wife Cerys Morgan tied the knot in June 2019 and have been married for seven years.
They welcomed their first son reportedly in May 2024.
