Coldplay frontman Chris Martin reflects on viral kiss cam 'debacle'

One month after THAT Coldplay kiss cam moment captured the world, Chris Martin has reflected on the "debacle".

Taking to the stage with the band at Craven Park in Kingston upon Hull, England on Monday, Coldplay's frontman joked about the scandal involving Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and HR executive Kirstin Cabot at their recent Boston show.

The 48-year-old singer also confirmed the now-controversial jumbotron is here to stay.

"We are so happy to be here. Many of you have written signs. So, I'll take some time to try and read some signs. Then we'll see what happens," he began, per Hull Live.

Martin went on to read a fan's sign which revealed they had been at the now infamous show in Boston.

"You were at the Boston gig. Well, okay, thank you for coming again after that debacle," Martin said to the fan.

Later, Martin addressed the kiss cam again revealing that, despite what ensued, the band has no intention of getting rid of the jumbotron.

"We've been doing [the Jumbotron] a long time and it is only recently that it became a... yeah," Martin continued per the publication.

"So yeah, life throws you lemons and you've got to make lemonade.

"So, we are going to keep doing it because we are going to meet some of you."

Throughout their shows for its Music of the Spheres World Tour, Martin is known to use a jumbotron to single out members of the crowd – individuals, couples, family members or friends – and sing personalised verses to them in a popular fan segment.

Usually, it goes off without a hitch but last month it was a different story.

During the kiss cam segment at a Coldplay concert at Boston's Gillette Stadium in July, the camera panned to Byron and Cabot who had their arms wrapped around one another, swaying to the music.

But as soon as they clocked the camera, they quickly separated and ducked out of view. The moment was captured in a now-viral video.

"Either they're having an affair or they're just very shy," Coldplay lead singer, Chris Martin, quipped of the moment.

The clip broke the internet.

Since the scandal both Byron and Cabot have resigned from their positions at the data company.
