The most unexpected places celebrities have popped up
There can be a number of reasons as to why a celebrity takes on a role - whether it be building their career, getting more exposure, as a favour, or simply just for fun.
Here are a few instances where audiences were thrown after discovering their favourite celebrity in the most unexpected of places.
Amy Adams in Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny
Before she was a household name, Amy Adams had a split-second role in a cult-favourite comedy.
Adams was cast as 'Beautiful Woman' in the 2006 comedy film Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny starring Jack Black.
She only appeared on screen for a split-second as an audience member watching Tenacious D perform.
When the camera panned to her, a frenzied Adams screamed "I love you". And her role was over.
Adams has since become one of the biggest names in the film and TV industry.
She's starred in countless projects and scored six Oscar nominations over the years.
While she hasn't yet taken home an Academy Award, Adams has won a Golden Globe, Critics Choice and SAG Award, all for her work in 2014 film American Hustle (pictured).
Meghan Markle in Deal or No Deal
Before she was Meghan, Duchess of Sussex she was just another actress trying to make it in the game of Hollywood.
One of Meghan Markle's first screen appearances was as a briefcase girl on the second season of the US version of Deal or No Deal, when she was kickstarting her career in 2006.
She spoke about the experience on her podcast Archetypes, sharing that while she was thankful the job provided her financial security and exposure, she couldn't help but feel objectified.
"It was solely about beauty and not necessarily about brains," she shared, "I didn't like feeling forced to be all looks.
"I was surrounded by smart women on that stage with me, but that wasn't the focus of why we were here and I would end up leaving with this pit in my stomach.
"Knowing that I was so much more than what was being objectified on the stage. I didn't like feeling forced to be all looks and little substance."
She went on to be renowned for her role as Rachel Zane in Suits. In 2018, she married Prince Harry and became a senior working royal with the title of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.
Two years later the couple announced they were stepping down from their roles and since then they have built their own empire in America, with the former actress now gearing up to launch her brand American Riviera Orchard.
Stan Lee in Princess Diaries 2
Late comic book writer Stan Lee was known for making appearances in Marvel movies to pay homage to his hard work, but the last place fans expected him to end up was in the second installment of teen movie The Princess Diaries.
The comic legend made a split-second appearance as a foreign wedding guest who learnt English solely through The Three Stooges in The Princess Diaries 2.
The cameo has puzzled fans for 20 years, considering many of his past appearances had a special significance attached to them in honour of past connections or future partnerships.
The closest connection fans can find is that director Gary Marshall and Lee were friends, perhaps facilitating the unexpected cameo.
Stan Lee died aged 95 in 2018.
Paris Hilton in The Cat in the Hat
Paris Hilton was everywhere in the 2000s, but the last place fans expected her to show up was in the Mike Myers film The Cat in the Hat.
She played Ginny, a female club-goer who dances with The Cat in the Hat briefly at the party.
