BREAKING! Alex Perry quits Twitter after being trolled for RHOM reunion show: 'It's a toxic swamp'
Alex Perry has shut down his Twitter account this afternoon, after being attacked by trolls for his role as host in the Real Housewives of Melbourne reunion shows.
After the reunion show was aired on Sunday night, the Aussie fash-designer copped the wrath of Twitter users… with many accusing him of supporting bullies by taking part of a show which 'supports catty behaviour'.
Critics also accused Alex of having a double standard, hosting the nasty special despite his strong stance on trolling after the death of his late friend Charlotte Dawson.
Perry has since hit back at critics, telling News.com.au: "I don't want to be part of that environment anymore. There are some great people on there but I also think it can be a toxic swamp and I don’t want that to be in my life anymore."
He added: "I think that bullying is an incredibly serious issue, and I think there are ill-informed people on Twitter, who are – how can I say this nicely- of low intelligence, that are just on there to use it as a toxic forum."
As for the double standard, Alex says "All I did was ask simple questions of the women (Housewives) and then was accused of bullying, and it makes me sick."
