Anne Hathaway reveals shock over ‘buzzer beater’ pregnancy at 43

Anne Hathaway has opened up about her and husband Adam Shulman’s shock over her “buzzer beater” pregnancy.

The actor, 43, told Late Night With Seth Meyers viewers she and her jewellery designer husband, 45, “knew what [they] were doing” but were still surprised when they conceived.

“We were so shocked it worked,” the Odyssey star told Meyers. “We knew … but we were so shocked it went this way.”

She joked that she and Shulman, who already share two sons, were calling the baby their “buzzer beater”.

“That’s great! You got it in right at the buzzer,” Meyers said.

Hathaway asked the host, who has two sons and a daughter, for any advice for parenting three kids.

“Weirdly, it goes on autopilot,” he said. “It just turns out once there’s three, there’s not much you can do except watch ... you’re just terrified and then it turns into a TV show you binge.”

Hathaway found that to be helpful, especially as she loves “the channel right now”.

“It’s like, ‘Oh cool, new cast member,’” she joked.

She and Shulman are already parents to two sons, Jonathan 10, and Jack, 6.

Hathaway announced her pregnancy last month when she debuted her bump during a holiday to Saint-Tropez.

“Baby, I’m yours,” she captioned an Instagram announcement set to the Barbara Lewis song of the same name.

In the accompanying video, she uncrossed her arms to reveal a baby bump.

Since then, the star has made plenty of fashion statements while sporting her bump during The Odyssey’s press tour.

In the past, Hathaway has been candid about her past fertility struggles.

In 2019, when she made her second pregnancy announcement, the actor shared a message of solidarity to others going through the same thing.

“For everyone going through infertility and conception hell, please know it was not a straight line to either of my pregnancies. Sending you extra love,” she said.
