Aerosmith announces farewell tour 'Peace Out' as band celebrates 50 years in music

Rock legends Aerosmith have announced their Peace Out tour will be their last.

According to the band's announcement on Instagram, the tour will play 40 dates across the US and Canada in celebration of their five decades in music.

"After 50 years, 10 world tours, and playing for over 100 million fans... It's time for one last go! Aerosmith PEACE OUT with special guest The Black Crowes! Fans will see one of the most significant American rock bands in history one last time during this not-to-be-missed final tour," the post read.

"It's not goodbye it's PEACE OUT! Get ready and walk this way, you're going to get the best show of our lives," Aaerosmith said in a statement.

Frontman Steven Tyler, guitarists Joe Perry and Brad Whitford, and bass player Tom Hamilton will all be part of the tour. However, drummer Joey Kramer won't be joining them.

"While Joey Kramer remains a beloved founding member of Aerosmith, he has regrettably made the decision to sit out the currently scheduled touring dates to focus his full attention on his family and health. Joey's unmistakable and legendary presence behind the drum kit will be sorely missed," a statement from the band said.

The tour will start in Philadelphia on September 2 and include a New Year's Eve show in Boston, which is where the band was formed.

Aerosmith are four-time Grammy award-winners known for the songs Walk This Way, I Don't Want to Miss a Thing and Dream On.

The tour follows the band's Las Vegas residency, Aerosmith: Deuces Are Wild, which was cancelled while Tyler entered a rehab program.

There is currently no indication the band will extend the Peace Out tour beyond North America.
