Stan announces full line-up for Australian Comedy Lockdown Special

As a result of events like the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Sydney Comedy Festival being cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, some of the biggest names in Australian comedy have joined forces for a four-part Stan Original comedy special called Australian Comedy Lockdown Special.

Each episode will feature at least six comedians — a mix of established names and emerging talent — performing short stand-up comedy spots filmed at their homes.

While they'll be missing a key element of their performances — a live audience — they'll have to make do with either their partners, kids, pets or maybe even their own reflections. Some may have to perform to objects like laundry baskets.

Nothing can replace live entertainment, but as recent events like One World: Together At Home and Australia's Music From the Home Front have shown, connection is more important than ever, and people at home love being entertained. It's reminded us how talented our artists are and introduced acts to wider audiences.

Australian Comedy Lockdown Special will kick off on Saturday May 9 at 7pm on Stan. See the breakdown of episodes and comedians below.
