Shark warning for WA tourist beaches

A warning has been issued after great white sharks were spotted at a popular surfing spot in Western Australia's Great Southern region, where 17-year-old Laeticia Brouwer was killed in April.
A shark warning is in place for Wylie Bay, east of Esperance, following two sightings of greats whites near Kelp Beds Beach on Thursday, including one that was 3.5m long near Lion Island.
Council rangers and the Department of Biodiversity Conservation and Attractions have erected warning signs on Wylie Bay access points and Fisheries officers will monitor the situation.
