Two people killed, one fighting for life, after horror crash

Two people have died and four have been injured in a multi-vehicle crash in north-western Victoria.

The vehicles were travelling along the Western Highway in Ledcourt, 250 kilometres north-west of Melbourne, when two of them collided about 6.45pm on Sunday.

Two occupants in a hatchback car, who are yet to be formally identified, died at the scene, police said.

Another four people travelling in a ute were also injured. One of those remains in a critical condition, while the others have been treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the collision is being investigated by Victoria Police’s Major Collision Investigation Unit.

 A section of the Western Highway remains closed early on Monday.
