'Beautiful natured boy': Tributes for electric motorbike rider, 14, killed in crash with 4WD

A teenager who was killed in a collision with a four-wheel-drive while riding an electric motorbike in Melbourne's north-east has been remembered by friends as a kind and well-liked member of the community.

Emergency services were called to Chute Street in Diamond Creek at about 10pm yesterday, where they found an electric motorcycle and a 4WD had crashed.

Ryley Ziebell, 14, was treated at the scene but could not be revived and was declared dead.

In a statement, his family said Ryley was a "beautiful natured boy who was incredibly loved and will be sadly missed".

"We ask our privacy is respected at this very difficult and sad time."

Young people gathered at the scene today to mourn Ziebell.

"He was a really nice guy. He was really easy to talk to," one friend told 9News.

"He was like one of the best people I've ever met. He really didn't deserve it."

The 22-year-old driver of the 4WD was questioned by police, before being released without charge.

The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
