It was just after midnight on what should be a quiet road when a driver ploughed through an intersection, T-boning another car with two women and a small child inside.
“Cops were chasing a vehicle, and it smashed right into me,” the victim said.
Still not stopping, the Ford Ranger clipped another vehicle before rolling onto its side in front of a Tregear home.
Police who had been chasing the driver turned rescuers.
They smashed the front window of the car and dragged the man out.
Those in the other cars, including the child, escaped serious injury.
The crash left a wreck across Luxford Road, and a mess for residents to clean up in the morning.
The pursuit started a few minutes away in Emerton, where police say the driver crashed into a fence during rugby league celebrations, and allegedly failed to stop when told to.
The man was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for police pursuit, and will face court early next year.
