Three people have been charged following a string of car break-ins and thefts which took place while the unsuspecting victims played Bingo in Geelong.

The offenders allegedly smashed the windows of ten cars and stole registration plates, handbags and other personal items at Beckley Park carpark in Corio between 8pm and 8.45pm on October 29.

Police allege the thieves targeted car owners as they attended a Bingo event at a nearby hall. Victoria Police

The owners of the cars had been attending a Bingo session at a nearby hall during the break-ins.

Four people were arrested on Saturday following search warrants in Lara and Corio.

Police seized allegedly stolen items including one car, registration plates, tools and electronics.

Some of the seized items appear to be related to an alleged burglary at a motorcycle store in North Geelong on October 28.

A 42-year-old man was charged with burglary, theft of motor vehicle, theft from motor vehicle, possessing drug of dependence and bail offences.

He was remanded in custody and will appear before Geelong Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

A 32-year-old woman was charged with burglary, theft of motor vehicle and theft from motor vehicle and a 39-year-old man was charged with possessing drug of dependence.
