Camera catches stolen tractor smashing into Melbourne cafe

CCTV footage has captured the moment a stolen tractor smashed through the front doors of a Melbourne cafe.

Police say a group of offenders riding e-bikes arrived at a property on Plenty Road, Bundoora, at about 12.15am on Sunday, September 20.

The offenders damaged a fence and broke into several sheds to steal garden tools.

They then stole a tractor and drove it into the front doors of a cafe on the premises.

Startled by the resulting alarm, the offenders fled, leaving the tractor still running.

Police believe they fled on e-bikes and are urging anyone who was driving in the area just before or after the incident to check their dashcam footage.

CCTV has also been released in the hope that somebody will provide information about the incident.
