Teenager stabbed multiple times in Sydney

A 14-year-old boy is in hospital after being stabbed multiple times in the torso during a fight outside a unit block in Sydney's southwest.

The teen was stabbed about eight times during a fight involving up to four people in Fairfield shortly before midnight.

The fight started in The Crescent before the victim reportedly fled into Wilga Street.

The injured teen contacted a friend who took him to Liverpool hospital, where he is in a stable condition.

A 27 year-old-man was arrested and questioned by police before being released pending further investigations.

Police are examining CCTV footage of the incident.
