Sydney to host Black Hawk training

Sydney residents shouldn't panic if they see or hear Black Hawk helicopters hovering lower than normal aircraft as part of training exercises next week, the Australian Defence Force says.

Pilots and crews will practice flying in rural and metropolitan areas, including Sydney, from Wednesday until the end of the month.

The activities will generally take place in the afternoon and evening and finish by 11.30pm, the ADF said in a statement.

"Some flight paths are necessarily lower than normal and unavoidable noise may be noticeable for short periods," it added.

"Residents should not be concerned if they hear or see these activities occurring."
