Sydney police out in force for Origin II

There'll be more than one blue force on the ground at State of Origin in Sydney as police amp up security in the wake of terror attacks in Europe.

Game two in the series will draw more than 80,000 people to ANZ stadium but police are urging fans to be on their best behaviour and to leave their bags at home or prepare to have them searched.

Security guards will assist officers in targeting anti-social behaviour and alcohol-related crime.

There is no specific threat to the Origin game, Assistant Commissioner Frank Mennilli said on Tuesday, however spectators should not be complacent.

"If you're concerned or if you see something that you may be concerned about or something that you're not sure about, just speak to a police officer," he said.
