Sydney man shot after answering front door

A man has been shot in the leg in what's believed to be a targeted attack in Sydney's west.

The man, 30, was rushed to hospital after police found him with gunshot wound to his leg at an apartment block in Wentworth Point about 4.40am on Wednesday.

Police say initial investigations suggest the attack was targeted, and a crime scene has been established.

It's understood the man was answering the front door of his home when he was shot.

"There were four quick shots, I didn't know what it was," a neighbour at the secure apartment block told Nine News.
