Shot Sydney man 'confrontational' when questioned by police

A man who was shot in the chest in Sydney became "confrontational" when police asked him about the wound.

At around 3.20pm yesterday the 21-year-old presented himself at Bankstown Hospital with the gunshot wound to the left side of his torso, police say.

He underwent surgery and his wound is not considered to be life-threatening.

Officers were called to the hospital and police allege when they tried to speak to the victim he became confrontational and uncooperative, police said in statement.

The man remains under guard at Bankstown Hospital while police say there are investigating the circumstances of the shooting and where it took place.
