Police find body believed to be missing Blue Mountains man

Police have found the body of a man reported missing in the Blue Mountains earlier this week.

Andrew Coogan, 35, was last seen by his housemate at 9.30am on Tuesday at Penrith Plaza.

Rescue personnel discovered a body in dense bushland at Mount Riverview today about 3pm.

While the body is yet to be formally identified, police believe it is the missing man.

His disappearance sparked an extensive search of the mountains.

Coogan's family described his disappearance is out of character.

Police have thanked the community for their assistance in the search.

A post mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of the man’s death; however, police do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances.
