Police officer hurt after chase in leafy suburb

A young police officer has been injured after a chase in on Sydney’s lower north shore.

The 21-year-old suffered head and leg injuries and was taken to hospital in a stable condition after he was hurt in the early hours of the morning.

Man’s hand severed in alleged Sydney home invasion

A man and three teenagers were arrested in North Sydney after the pursuit which started in the leafy suburb of Mosman.

About 4.30am, officers tried to stop a car travelling on Military Road.

When the driver refused, a chase was started.

The car stopped on Blue Street in North Sydney and police say as officers approached it, the driver accelerated, hitting an officer.

The car then hit an unmarked police car and the driver drove away.

The vehicle was later found abandoned on Blues Point Road, North Sydney.

Police arrested a 22-year-old man, a 17-year-old boy, and two 17-year-old girls.

All four were taken to Chatswood Police Station.

The 17-year-old boy was charged with multiple offences including cause grievous bodily harm to person with intent to resist arrest etc, use etc offensive weapon incompany to prevent detention, police pursuit - not stop - drive recklessly, learner not accompanied by driver/police officer/tester and drive conveyance taken without consent of owner.

He was refused bail to appear before a children’s court tomorrow.

The 22-year-old man was charged with be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner and goods in personal custody suspected being stolen (not motor vehicle).

He was granted conditional bail to appear before Manly Local Court on Thursday 18 June 2026.

The two 17-year-old girls were released pending further investigations.
