Police investigate Mehajer's video rage

NSW Police are investigating allegations controversial Sydney property developer Salim Mehajer made verbal threats toward his estranged wife.

Footage showing Mr Mehajer screaming on a mobile phone was aired on Nine Network on Monday night.

Aysha Learmonth reportedly walked out of the marriage less than a year after the couple's lavish August 2015 wedding.

"I hope you die, you f***ing slut. You f***d 12 guys, you slut," Mr Mehajer screams in the video.

Police on Tuesday confirmed they are investigating.

Mr Mehajer claims he has been set up by Nine's A Current Affair.

He told News Corp he believes his wife was betrayed by someone who supplied "these out of context videos" to the program.
